  • Author: ARLINDA
  • Total Time: 4 hours 15 minutes (including chilling time)
  • Yield: 8-10 servings 1x

Description

This easy banana pudding recipe is a creamy, no-bake dessert made with just four ingredients—vanilla wafers, pudding, bananas, and whipped topping. Perfect for any occasion, it’s quick to prepare and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (16-ounce) container of frozen whipped topping (such as Cool Whip), thawed
  • 1 box of vanilla wafer cookies (such as Nilla Wafers)
  • 1 (5-ounce) package of instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 4 large ripe bananas, sliced (plus extra for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Whipped Topping: If you’re using frozen whipped topping, set it in the refrigerator to thaw overnight. This will make it easier to work with when it’s time to assemble the pudding.
  • Make the Pudding: Prepare the instant vanilla pudding according to the package directions. You can use either milk or water, though milk will give you a creamier texture. Once the pudding is ready, set it in the refrigerator to firm up.
  • Layer the Cookies: Grab a 9×13-inch baking dish. Start by arranging a single layer of vanilla wafer cookies on the bottom of the dish. You can overlap them slightly, but make sure the bottom is fully covered.
  • Add the Pudding and Bananas: Use a spatula to spread half of the vanilla pudding mixture over the cookies. Then, layer half of the sliced bananas on top of the pudding. Repeat this process with another layer of cookies, pudding, and bananas.
  • Top with Whipped Topping: Once the layers are complete, spread the whipped topping evenly over the entire dish. For added flavor and texture, sprinkle some crushed vanilla wafers on top.
  • Chill: Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight if possible. This will allow the flavors to meld together and the pudding to firm up.
  • Serve and Enjoy: When you’re ready to serve, garnish the top with additional banana slices or crushed wafers. Scoop into individual bowls and enjoy!
