1 tbsp olive oil
1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 small yellow onion, thinly sliced
1 cup mushrooms (optional)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1/3 cup mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt)
2 cups shredded provolone cheese (or mix with mozzarella/cheddar)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat Oven
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil. Slice bread lengthwise and toast cut sides up for 5 minutes.
Step 2: Sauté Veggies
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium. Add bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms. Sauté for 5–7 minutes until softened and golden.
Step 3: Cook Steak
Push veggies aside and add sliced steak. Sear for 2–3 minutes, turning once. Combine with veggies and season with garlic powder, pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
Step 4: Assemble Base
Spread mayo or Greek yogurt on toasted bread halves.
Step 5: Layer & Bake
Top bread with steak mixture, then cover evenly with cheese. Bake for 12–15 minutes until cheese melts. Broil for 2–3 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Step 6: Slice & Serve
Let rest 5 minutes, then slice and serve warm!
Notes
📝 Philly Cheesesteak Cheesy Bread Delight

Best cheese: Use freshly shredded provolone for ideal melt and flavor.
Make ahead: Assemble up to the baking step and refrigerate. Bake when ready to serve.
Freezer-friendly: Freeze unbaked cheesy bread for up to 2 months. Bake from frozen at 375°F for 25–30 minutes.
